Kurosawa’s Ran is awesome. Starts a little slow, but the battle scenes are some of the greatest ever put on film - beautiful and terrible at the same time. I’d also recommend Full Metal Jacket, The Piano, Schindler’s List.

any of the Kurosawa films. They may not all be war films…but I love them.

Band of Brothers
Not a movie but a series ,which actually makes it a super long movie.
